ABOUT Bread upma RECIPE

An easy to make upma for breakfast.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Wheat bread - 5-6 slices
  2. Onions - 2, finely chopped
  3. Green capsicum - 1, finely chopped
  4. Green Chillies - 2, finely chopped
  5. Ginger, finely chopped - 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  8. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  9. Tomato Ketchup - 1 tbsp
  10. Sugar - A pinch
  11. Salt - to taste
  12. Melted butter - 1 tsp
  13. Oil - 1 tbsp
  14. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  15. urad dal - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil and butter in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
  2. Once it begins to crackle, add the urad dal.
  3. Add the ginger , green chillies and onions next.
  4. Add a pinch of sugar of saute for a couple of minutes.
  5. Add the finely chopped capsicum, turmeric powder, red chilli powder , garam masala, salt and mix well.
  6. Add the ketchup and mix well. Sprinkle some water so the spices don't burn.
  7. Roughly chop up the bread slices and add it to the pan and mix well so the masala is coated well.
  8. Leave it for a minute so the bread becomes a little crisp.
  9. Turn off the heat and serve hot.
