Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Homemade sourdough/ regular sandwich bread - 2 slices per sandwich
  2. Eggs - 4
  3. Cheddar Cheese - few slices
  4. Meat (Beef/ Mutton) - 500gm (cut into small cubes)
  5. Onions (medium sized) - 2
  6. Chilli powder - 2 teaspoons
  7. Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
  9. Black Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Ginger Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  12. Tomato - 1 (diced into cubes)
  13. Oil - 2 tablespoons
  14. Water - 500 ml (as required)

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, sear the meat in the hot oil.
  2. Add the chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and black pepper. Fry on medium heat
  3. Once roasted, add a cup of water, salt and the ginger garlic paste. Add the diced tomatoes.
  4. Cook the meat until soft, adding water as needed to maintain the sauce in the pan.
  5. Cut up the onions in half rings and add it to the meat. Cook the onions until translucent.
  6. Simmer and reduce the sauce in the pan, until the sauce is just a coating over the meat and the onions.
  7. The most important part of the recipe: fry the egg just enough so that the yolk is still runny.
  8. Butter the bread (butter on the sides to be toasted). Layer the bread with cheese slices or grated cheese, add the cooked meat layer, the runny fried egg and the top layer.
  9. Toast both sides until golden brown. Be cautious as not to break the egg while flipping the toast.
