ABOUT Potato Farls RECIPE

Very easy and very simple recipe. Irish recipe modified to our Indian style. Since it is difficult to make kids eat vegetables like bottle gourd, I mixed bottle gourd with this recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Potatoes - 6
  2. Bottle gourd - 1 medium size
  3. Maida or white flour - 4 tbsp ( increase or decrease as per need)
  4. Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Pepper - 2 tsp (increase or decrease as per your taste)
  6. Salt - as needed
  7. Butter - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes and mash them well. To the mashed potatoes add butter, grated bottle gourd, salt, maida, baking powder, pepper and salt. Mix everything well and knead to get a soft dough.
  2. Take a big portion of dough and roll it to a round shape with 6 to 8 inches thick. Usually it is used to cut into four while serving.
  3. But I made into small to pack for kids lunch boxes. Cook it on a dosa tawa, smearing butter all around and cook on both side.
