ABOUT Apple Modak RECIPE

Modaks for Ganesh from my kitchen. This is a unique recipe that is made from Apples.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 big sized apple. (Peeled and grated. Marinated in some ghee.)
  2. 50 gm khoya
  3. 3 to 4 tsp sugar (according to the sweetness of the apple)
  4. 2 tbsp cashew nuts
  5. 2 tbsp almonds
  6. 3 tablespoon pure ghee
  7. 1 almond, cut for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Stir the khoya for 3 mins and keep it aside. Also heat ghee in a heavy pan and fry the dry fruits for 2 mins. Keep it aside to cool.
  2. Once it is cooled, grind it well, not finely but somewhat crumbled.
  3. In that pan, add the grated apple and cook. Stir it regularly, otherwise the apple will stick in the pan. (After some time, the apple will turn brown.)
  4. Next, add khoya, sugar and the grounded dry fruits.
  5. Cook it for a few mins.
  6. Then let this mixture cool and make 8 modaks.
  7. Garnish it with almonds and serve.
