Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole Black gram 2 cups
  2. Water 6 cups
  3. Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
  4. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  5. Degi mirch 1 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  7. Hing a pinch
  8. Ginger and garlic chopped 2 tbsp
  9. Green chillies chopped 2-3
  10. Onion 1 medium sized, chopped
  11. Tomato 1 medium sized, chopped
  12. Methi leaves 1 tbsp
  13. Oil 3 tbsp
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the dal overnight. Pressure cook the dal with turmeric, salt and water till it's done.
  2. Heat oil, add in the hing, cumin seeds, degi mirch, green chilli, ginger, garlic, onions and saute till it's translucent then add tomatoes and saute till the oil separates itself.
  3. Then add the dal, garam masala, methi leaves. Mix and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. The dal is ready to be eaten with rice, mahni and chana dal.

black gram means,green moong? seems so.
