ABOUT Cranberry Dates Modak RECIPE

This time I wanted to try a different Modak for Ganesh Chaturthi so here is a Cranberry Modak.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cups sugar
  2. 1 cup cashew nuts
  3. 1 cup almonds
  4. 1 cup khoya
  5. 1 cup dates
  6. 1 cup cranberries
  7. 2 tbsp milk
  8. A pinch of saffron
  9. 3 tbsp ghee

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the cashews till the raw smell goes away. Also dry roast the almonds as well and powder the cashews and almonds in a mixer.
  2. Add some milk and grind the dates and cranberries.
  3. Heat a pan, add the khoya, once it melts in a few minutes, add the sugar, dry nuts powder and grounded dates and cranberries.
  4. Cook this mixture for 10 minutes on a medium flame (at this time the mixture will leave the sides of pan). Let this cool for 10 minutes, grease ghee in the palm of your hands and make modak shapes.
  5. Serve it to enjoy!
