ABOUT Rava Panchamrut Cake RECIPE

Panchamrut as the name goes in Sanskrit, is made with five diverse ingredients and is offered for pooja, abhishek in Hindu worship. Came across an idea of making a cake with ingredients of Panchamrut that is milk, curd, sugar, honey, ghee with adding rava/ semilina to it. Searched a few recipes of that and rawa cake and finally tried this one. It is a very easy recipe and the cake turns amazingly yummy. The taste of panchamrut with properly soaked and then baked semolina is a perfect combination to take you to heavens!!

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Semolina- 4- small cup
  2. Milk- 2- small cup
  3. Curd- 1- small cup
  4. Ghee- 1- small cup
  5. Sugar- 1- small cup
  6. Honey- 3- tablespoon
  7. Saffron- 4- strands
  8. Cardamom powder- 2- pinch
  9. Baking powder- 1- half tsp
  10. Baking soda- 1- fourth tsp
  11. Dry fruits- 1- garnishing
  12. Ghee and maida- 1- to grease

Instructions

  1. Mix ingredients of Panchamrut which is curd, ghee, sugar, honey, milk.
  2. Add strands of saffron and cardamom powder
  3. Add 4 cups of sooji. Mix well. Use same size cup for all measurements.
  4. Cover and keep for soaking for 3 hours
  5. Grease cake tin with ghee and maida
  6. After 3 hours, add baking soda and baking powder to semolina mixture. The semolina will soak water and batter will become thick. Mix gently in one direction.
  7. Pour batter in cake tin.
  8. Garnish with dry fruits. Preheat oven and set for baking at 200 degree for 35 minutes
  9. You can also bake in cooker/ deep wok covered by lid by placing cake tin on a ring.
  10. Cool after baking.
  11. Cut and serve
