Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Whole wheat flour 2 cups
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Carrot puree from 2 carrots 1/4th cup
  4. Saffron or pinch of orange food colour
  5. Spinach puree from 1/2 bunch 1/4th cup
  6. Water to knead the dough

Instructions

  1. First make 1/4th cup carrot puree, for that grate the carrots or put it in your blender after chopping to get a smooth paste.
  2. Soak saffron in 2-3 tbsp water and keep aside. Make 1/4th cup puree from 1/2 bunch of spinach and keep ready.
  3. Next divide the wheat flour in three parts in a separate bowl. One part add little salt, carrot puree and saffron water or few drops of orange food colour, knead it to a soft dough, add more water if needed.
  4. Next kneed the second portion of the wheat flour just by adding a pinch of salt and water, into a soft dough.
  5. Next add the spinach puree in the third portion, add a pinch of salt and knead it well.
  6. So now you have three separate doughs, orange, white and green.
  7. Now take little portions from each dough. Roll each portion into oval shape, just a small oval, attach each one like orange on the top, next white portion and then green portion, pinch the sides to attach more. Now roll this entire part into a chapati. Take care to keep the shape round. Roll the doughs like this into chapatis and fry well, enjoy with curry of your choice.
