ABOUT Italian Flatbread Pizza RECIPE

An easy delicious homemade pizza recipe with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. A great recipe for weeknight dinners or parties.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For dough: 2 cups flour
  2. 1 tsp dry active yeast
  3. 1/2 cup warm water (to dissolve yeast)
  4. 2 tbsp olive oil
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. For pizza toppings: 10-12 cherry tomatoes
  7. 1 tbsp olive oil
  8. 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  9. Few basil leaves
  10. Oregano as required
  11. Red chilli flakes as required

Instructions

  1. Take warm water in small bowl, add yeast and let it stand for few minutes undisturbed.
  2. In a bowl take all purpose flour, salt and yeasrt water mixture. Mix everything well and form a sticky dough.
  3. Dust some flour on the surface and knead a soft smooth dough.
  4. Now keep the dough in another bowl brushed with olive oil, cover with cling wrap and keep it in a warm place undisturbed for 2 hours.
  5. After 2 hours the dough will be double in size.
  6. Punch the dough and knead for few seconds and then divide it in two equal parts.
  7. Roll out the dough with the help of rolling pin or with your finger tips.
  8. Spread 2 tbsp of pizza sauce all over the dough leaving 1 inch from the sides.
  9. Now add cherry tomatoes, grated mozzarella cheese and some seasonings like salt, black pepper and oregano.
  10. Bake the pizza in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10-12 minutes or till the crust is nice golden brown in colour.
  11. Once done season with some oregano and red chilli flakes cut in slices and Serve hot!
