A 2- in-1 dish which can be relished as a side dish as well as a stuffing for a sandwich

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Green peas 1 cup soaked in hot water for 3 hours or soaked in cold water overnight
  2. Onions 2 big
  3. Garlic cloves 6
  4. Tomato 1 big
  5. Green chillies 6
  6. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  7. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  8. Capsicum 1/2 chopped
  9. Crushed pepper as per your taste
  10. Salt
  11. Coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Boil green peas in pressure cooker for 4 whistles. Add required water and little salt. Pressure cook till the green peas are firm.
  2. Heat a kadai. Fry onion, green chillies and garlic. Fry well.
  3. Add tomato. Fry till soft.
  4. Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder and fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Now add the boiled green peas only without water. You can also strain the green peas and add it.
  6. Add salt. Let it boil. If the green peas is very dry, add little water used to pressure cook green peas.
  7. Add chopped capsicum. For best results, fry capsicum in a separate tawa with little oil and fry till crunchy and then add to the kadai.
  8. Garnish with Coriander leaves and add crushed pepper.
