ABOUT Korean Chilli Tofu RECIPE

A spicy, tangy and a mouthwatering appetiser !

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 200 grams firmly packed fresh tofu
  2. 3-4 thai red padi chillies(more or less depending on your taste)
  3. 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Flakes
  4. Salt to taste
  5. 1 teaspoon fine brown sugar/1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  6. 2.5 tablespoon full light soy sauce
  7. 2 tablespoon thai red chilli sauce
  8. 2 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  9. 2 garlic cloves finely chopped/minced
  10. 1 teaspoon toasted white sesame seeds
  11. 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. slice the tofu roughly into 1/2inch wide length wise
  2. pat dry each slice with a thin kitchen cloth
  3. heat oil and pan fry both sides of each tofu slices till light brown in colour
  4. meanwhile chop/slit the chillies/jalapeños finely and dresses them
  5. in a small mixing bowl mix together garlic, sugar/ketchup, soy and Thai chilli sauce
  6. season with salt, chilli flakes
  7. give all the ingredients a good mix
  8. place the fried tofu slices on a kitchen napkin to drain excess oil
  9. arrange the tofu slices on desired serving plate
  10. add a generous amount of the sauce prepared
  11. TOP with sliced chillies, parsley and sesame seeds
  12. serve immediately
