ABOUT Wheat sauce pasta spiralli RECIPE

White sauce of pasta is made with All purpose flour which is not very good for one's health. So my catch is to make this kids loving recipe super healthy. I made my white sauce with wheat flour and made it healthier and super yummy in taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pasta spiralli: 250 gms
  2. Chopped red bell peppers: 1/2 cup
  3. Julienned yellow peppers: 1/2 cup
  4. Chopped baby corn: 1/2 cup
  5. Wheat flour: 1 cup
  6. Milk: 3 cups
  7. Olive oil: 1 tbsp
  8. Chili flakes: 1 tsp
  9. Oregano: 1 tsp
  10. Rock salt: 2 tsp
  11. Grated cheese: 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Boil pasta spiralli in a pan with a little olive oil and pinch of salt. Check the pasta, if it can be cut with spoon then the pasta is done. Strain in a strainer. Immediately wash the pasta in cold water so that they do not stick.
  2. Meanwhile, take a non stick pan and add wheat flour to it. Sauté for 2-3 minutes and then put olive oil in it. Mix nicely to give a crumbly consistency. If you don’t have olive oil you can use desi ghee/clarified butter(2tsp).
  3. Now sauté the wheat flour till it gives a nutty flavor.
  4. Now add milk to it and keep on stirring in order to avoid lump formation.
  5. Now add chili flakes, Rock salt(1tsp), black pepper(1tsp) and oregano(1/2 tsp) to it and mix nicely.
  6. Now heat olive oil in a non stick pan and and saute the veggies in it. When the veggies turn little softer then add boiled pasta to it and toss with the vegetables. add little salt and toss.
  7. Add white sauce to the pan. add oregano and black pepper to the pasta. Top with some grated cheese and chopped veggies.
