Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Poha (flattened rice) 1 /2 cup
  2. Cooked rice 1 cup
  3. Idli rava 1&1/2 cup
  4. Thick yogurt 1/2 cup
  5. Water 1/2cup or as reqd
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  8. Turmeric pwd 1/2 tsp
  9. Ginger green chilli paste 1tsp
  10. Eno 1tsp
  11. for tempering -
  12. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  13. Sesame Seeds 1/2 tsp
  14. curry leaves
  15. Green chilly pieces

Instructions

  1. 1. Take a bowl, add leftover cooked rice, poha and idli rava. Mix well.
  2. 2. Add salt, yogurt and water. Mix well. Set aside for 30 mins
  3. 3.Blend the mix to a smooth paste of dropping consistency. Adjust water accordingly.
  4. 4. Remove in the bowl, add turmeric, ginger chilly paste, mix well. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Keep the steamer & idli moulds ready for steaming. After the water in the steamer boils Add eno in the above batter and mix well.
  6. 6. Put the batter in idli moulds and steam for 12-15mins.
  7. 7. Heat a pan with oil for tempering. Add mustard and sesame seeds. After they splutter add Curry leaves and green chilli pieces.
  8. 8. Remove the idlis from mould and arrange on a plate. Pour the tempering over the idlis. Dhokla style idlis are ready to serve
