ABOUT NINAV. RECIPE

This sweet is prepared on the day of Data that is one day before Haritalika. On the day of Haritalika we worship Lord Shiva and keep fast for the whole day. One day before Haritalika we prepare this sweet with coconut milk ,jaggery and besan. This is a traditional dish prepared in Maharashtra. This is called a CKP delicacy as it is especially made by Chandraseniy Kayastha Prabhu community.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 Cup Chana dal
  2. 1 Tsp Rice ( Raw)
  3. 1 Tsp Wheat
  4. 1 Cup Jaggery
  5. 1 and 1/2 Cup Coconut milk
  6. 1/2 Teaspoon Cardamom powder
  7. 1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg powder
  8. Chopped Dry Fruits

Instructions

  1. Roast Chana dal, rice and wheat separately.
  2. Then grind all the three in mixer.
  3. Add nutmeg and cardamom powder in it.
  4. Mix well coconut milk and jaggery together.
  5. Then add this mixture to the flour.
  6. Mix it well together.
  7. Heat a pan on gas stove and add this mixture in it.
  8. Stir it for 2-3 minutes till it becomes slightly thick.
  9. Then grease the baking pan and pour the mixture in it.
  10. Add some chopped dry fruits on it.
  11. Add little ghee on the sides of the pan before baking.
  12. Set your microwave on convection mode and preheat for 180 degrees.
  13. Then keep the pan in the microwave and bake it for 20 to 25 minutes till it becomes golden brown.
  14. Once it is ready garnish with Dry Fruits and cut it into pieces as per your choice.
