ABOUT Fusion Pakode RECIPE

Crispy Fusion Pakode are a tea time delicacy where palak leaves and potato slices are dipped in gram flour batter and deep fried making it a great tea time snack especially during monsoons.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 medium sized potato peeled and thinly sliced
  2. Approx. 20 spinach leaves
  3. 1 cup Besan (gram flour)
  4. 2 tsp rice flour
  5. salt as per taste
  6. 1/2 tsp Red chillies powder
  7. 1 tsp oil for batter
  8. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. First, get all the ingredients ready.
  2. Wash the spinach leaves and spread over the clean surface.
  3. Keep potato slices over the spinach leaves (best fit) and sprinkle a little salt and red chillies powder.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, add besan (gram flour), rice flour, salt, red chillies powder, oil. Mix well by adding little water at a time to make batter, thick enough to stick on pakoda.
  5. Pre-heat the oil in the frying pan at high flame.
  6. Make a roll of spinach leaf and potato slices, dip in the batter properly and deep fry in the pan at adjusted medium flame till it turns crispy and golden brown in color.
  7. Remove the pakoda and place on an absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  8. Proceed with the remaining spinach leaves and potato slices to make the crispy, golden brown pakode the same way.
  9. Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup of your choice.
