ABOUT Layali lubnan (semolina pudding) RECIPE

Layali lubnan is an amazingly aromatic very popular dessert of middle east that is specially made during the festival of Ramadan. It is made with semolina, milk ,whipped cream and drizzled with some sented rose, orange syrup.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Semolina 1/2 cup
  2. Milk 1 cup.
  3. Pinch of salt
  4. Orange Zest 1/2 tsp
  5. rose water 1/2 tsp
  6. Sugar 1 tbsp
  7. 1cup whipped cream
  8. For Syrup:-
  9. Sugar 1/2 cup
  10. water 1/4 cup
  11. Cardamom Powder 1/4 tsp
  12. 1tsp orange juice
  13. 1/2 tsp rose water
  14. Chopped pistachio and rose petals for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepairing sugar syrup:-
  2. In a saucepan mix sugar with water on medium flame.
  3. Add Orange juice, cardamom powder and let it come to a boil by itself.
  4. Once the bubbles rise to the surface and it has reached a full boil , reduce heat to low flame and boil for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove syrup from heat and add rose water and mix it.
  6. Prepairing pudding mixture:-
  7. On medium-high flame, In a pot whisk together milk, semolina and salt .
  8. Now add sugar, rose water and mix it
  9. After about 30 second of it boiling and bubbling, remove from heat.
  10. Add Orange zest and rose petals. Mix it .
  11. Spread this mixture in a dish. For this I used round shape mold. Keep it aside for completely cool down.
  12. Apply whipped cream on top of semolina mixture.
  13. Refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
  14. After the dessert has chilled then remove with a spatula.
  15. Garnish with chopped pistachio and fresh rose petals.
  16. Drizzle with as much syrup as you want and enjoy this delicious dessert.
