ABOUT Jal Jeera Popsicles... RECIPE

Aptly described as 'Indian Flavoured Lemonade' , these popsicles present an altogether different picture to you all. I made them more appealing to the younger lot by giving them a facelift in the form of popsies or better still in our own way of describing, 'Jal Jeera Ice Golas'. As you all know, it is good as an appetizer too because of it's digestive properties, these can be best to lick at anytime you wish. Try these lollies this festive season doubling the fun. Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Tamarind small lemon sized ball 1
  2. Black salt 1/4 tsp
  3. Chaat Masala 1 tbsp
  4. Roasted cumin seeds powder 1 tsp
  5. Dry mango powder 1 tsp
  6. Asafoetida 1/8 tsp
  7. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4 cup
  8. Mint leaves chopped 1/4 Cup
  9. Lemon Juice 1/4 cup
  10. Water 1 litre

Instructions

  1. Blend all the ingredients excluding water to a smooth chutney or paste.
  2. Add it to the water and mix well.
  3. Fill up the popsicle moulds and freeze for 4-5 hours.
  4. Enjoy these yummy, tangy and lemony popsicles anytime you wish to have jal jeera drink.
  5. Kids will love to have it in this form without fuss.
  6. Enjoy them at iftaar for a change and lick them to your hearts content while breaking your long hours of fasting.
