ABOUT Peanut chutney - for idly/dosa RECIPE

Are you bored of regular coconut chutney ,try this Peanut chutney. It is unique and full of flavors. Goes well with any dosa / Idli, requires very less time and can be cooked using a few ingredients, best alternative to use in place of coconut or daliya.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup Raw / roasted peanuts
  2. A golf ball sized Tamarind
  3. 2 garlic cloves
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. Salt to taste
  6. A pinch of sugar
  7. 2 tsp oil
  8. 1/2 mustard n cumin seeds
  9. few curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Soak the tamarind in enough water for 10 to 15 minutes to extract juice. In a pan add a tsp of oil, once hot, add the peanuts and fry until raw smell is gone and they turn golden.
  2. If using roasted peanuts skip this step. Once roasted allow them to cool at room temperature.
  3. In a blender - add the roasted peanuts, garlic, salt , red chilli powder, sugar and grind to make a smooth paste using the tamarind juice and water as required.
  4. Once grinding is done, check the seasoning and adjust. Now in the same pan, add the remaining oil. Once hot add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds and allow them to splutter, add the curry leaves and saute for a minute. Now add this tempering to the chutney  and serve.
  5. Delicious with dosa, idli, rice roti etc. Make and enjoy with your family n friends, we loved it and we hope that you will love it too.

it's stay how time can v make no put in freezer for long time
