ABOUT Steamed minced meat ball soup RECIPE

Mutton being the favourite of my family I try to do variations with this meat. This soup is so tasty and filling with vegetables it can be eaten for dinner. These meat balls are steamed so they are light on your stomach.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. To make the meat balls: Minced mutton 200 gms
  2. Grated onion 1
  3. Lalmirch powder 1 tsp
  4. Green chilli 1
  5. To make the broth : Onion 1
  6. Carrots 2
  7. Rice 2 tbsp
  8. Lime juice 2 tsp
  9. Spinach 1 bunch
  10. Green chillies 2
  11. Salt & Pepper to taste
  12. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  13. Dhania powder 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Clean, wash and drain water if any in the minced mutton. Marinate the meat for about an hour with salt, pepper and lime juice. After an hour, add in the grated onion, dhania powder, green chillies, lalmirch powder, garam masala powder and make small balls of this meat mixture.
  2. Take a pan, pour enough water for boiling to make the broth. Add thinly sliced carrots, finely chopped onions, roughly chopped spinach and soaked rice, minced chillies with coriander leaves. Let it simmer and cook on a slow flame. Now place one plate over the pan and put in the meat balls over it to steam. Cover the meat balls with another plate.
  3. Once the meat balls are steamed on one side, flip them. Steam for a few more minutes. While steaming, the koftas will leave water, however do not discard it and add it to the vegetable stock.
  4. After they are steamed, drop these balls in the boiling vegetables stock and cook for another 5 more minutes.
  5. Serve hot with lime juice sprinkled on top to enhance the taste.
