ABOUT Buttery Prawns with Garlic and Parsley RECIPE

Prawns poached in butter, flavoured with garlic and parsley - a quick dish that you can serve as a side in a meal, or even as a party snack.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 25 medium prawns
  2. 10 -15 cloves garlic
  3. 3 tbsp butter
  4. 1 tbsp parsley
  5. 2 tbsp olive oil
  6. Salt
  7. Pepper

Instructions

  1. Shell and devein the prawns. You can keep the tails on if you like. Wash and then marinate the prawns with salt and let them be for around 15 minutes.
  2. Mince the garlic and finely chop the washed parsley leaves. Use fresh parsley only, dried doesn't work as well.
  3. In a non stick pan heat the butter and then add the olive oil. As soon as the butter has melted add the minced garlic. Keep the flame on the lower side so the garlic poaches in the fats and doesn't get brown.
  4. Add the prawns and shake them in well to coat with the butter/olive oil and garlic. Simmer the heat, cover the pan and let the prawns cook slowly for a few minutes.
  5. When the prawns are nearly cooked increase the heat and stir it all well. Crack a good amount of fresh pepper onto the prawns. Cook till the moisture in the pan has dried completely.
  6. Scatter the parsley on the prawns, give it a mix and remove to a serving bowl scraping the pan juices too. Serve hot!

Just a simple but flavourful recipe of prawns, will surely try it out soon :)
