Sem aur aloo pickle is a seasonal and an authentic pickle from uttar pradesh, I learnt it from my nani.

Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. Sem fali 1/2 kg
  2. baby potato 1/2 kg
  3. salt to taste
  4. red chili powder 4 tsp or to taste
  5. coriander powder 1 tbsp
  6. turmeric powder 1 - 1/2 tsp
  7. mustard powder 1 tbsp or 1 cup
  8. Heeng 1/2 tsp
  9. fennel powder 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash potato and boil them, wash and remove the strings and then boil them for 5 minutes.
  2. Cool and remove the skins of potatoes, take a large bowl or a mixing bowl mix all ingredients together, keep in an air tight container.
  3. Keep the jar in sun light for 2 -3 days, the pickle is ready to serve.
