hariyalidal is a spicy prepration with spinach and lentils and served with steamed rice accompanied with fried papad and tomato salad
Simple and delicious.
Soak split pigeon pea /tuvar dal for 10minuts
Heat 1tsp of oil in a heavy bottom vessel add ginger garlic paste and saute
Add soaked Dal and saute for 2-3minutes
Add chopped green chilli and spinach in it mix well and cook
Add chopped tomatoes in it and cook
Add salt and turmeric powder in it
Cook this mixture on medium flame till oil saperates
Add water and close lid cook till water gets reduced and dal should be cooked properly
Mash this cooked dal spinach mixture with a wooden ladle
Not heat remaining oil in a tadka pan add redchilli powder and pour this tadka imidiately
Hariyali dal is ready
For steamed rice wash and soak rice for 5-6minutes
Heat water in a vessel add salt in it
As water starts boiling add soaked rice in it and cook on high flame
As water get completly reduced close the lid to the vessel and cook on low flame for 4-5minutes then switch off the flame
Serve hot steamed rice with hariyali dal,fried papad,pickle and salad
