Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/4 cup broken wheat
  2. 3 tbsp moong dal
  3. 3 tbsp green peas
  4. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  5. 1/4 cumin seeds
  6. 1 piece Cinnamon Stick
  7. 4 piece cloves
  8. A pinch of asafoetida
  9. 1 piece chopped onion
  10. 5 piece curry leaves
  11. 1 tbsp ginger green chilli paste
  12. 1 cup fenugreek leaves
  13. Salt as required
  14. 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  15. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  16. 1/4 cup water
  17. 3 tbsp green paste
  18. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  19. Ingredients for green paste
  20. 1/4 cup boiled Palak
  21. 1/4 cup fresh garlic
  22. 1/4 cup fresh coriander
  23. 2 tbsp fresh coconut
  24. 2 piece green chilies
  25. Salt as required
  26. 1 tsp oil
  27. Ingredients for extra tadka
  28. 1 tbsp ghee
  29. 1 piece dry red chilli
  30. 1 tsp chopped green chilli
  31. 1 tsp curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak broken wheat and moong dal together for 2 hours
  2. In mixture grinder add green paste ingredients and crush it
  3. In a pressure cooker add some oil and add soak broken wheat and moong dal mix and sauté for few minutes add water, green peas, turmeric and salt mix well
  4. Pressure cook the all mixture for flour whistles
  5. Heat a pan add oil,mustard seeds, cumin seeds cloves and cinnamon stick
  6. When cumin seeds begin to crackle add pinch of asafoetida and chopped onion and stir it and cook them till light brown
  7. Add fenugreek leaves and mix well add ginger green chilli paste and cook some times
  8. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder mix well
  9. Add boiled broken wheat mixture and salt mix well and add water stir it
  10. Add green paste and mix it cover the pan and cook few minutes
  11. At last add lemon juice
  12. Pour the extra tadka over the khichadi.
