Ingredients Serving: 2
1/4 cup broken wheat
3 tbsp moong dal
3 tbsp green peas
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 cumin seeds
1 piece Cinnamon Stick
4 piece cloves
A pinch of asafoetida
1 piece chopped onion
5 piece curry leaves
1 tbsp ginger green chilli paste
1 cup fenugreek leaves
Salt as required
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 cup water
3 tbsp green paste
1 tbsp lemon juice
Ingredients for green paste
1/4 cup boiled Palak
1/4 cup fresh garlic
1/4 cup fresh coriander
2 tbsp fresh coconut
2 piece green chilies
Salt as required
1 tsp oil
Ingredients for extra tadka
1 tbsp ghee
1 piece dry red chilli
1 tsp chopped green chilli
1 tsp curry leaves
Instructions
Wash and soak broken wheat and moong dal together for 2 hours
In mixture grinder add green paste ingredients and crush it
In a pressure cooker add some oil and add soak broken wheat and moong dal mix and sauté for few minutes add water, green peas, turmeric and salt mix well
Pressure cook the all mixture for flour whistles
Heat a pan add oil,mustard seeds, cumin seeds cloves and cinnamon stick
When cumin seeds begin to crackle add pinch of asafoetida and chopped onion and stir it and cook them till light brown
Add fenugreek leaves and mix well add ginger green chilli paste and cook some times
Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder mix well
Add boiled broken wheat mixture and salt mix well and add water stir it
Add green paste and mix it cover the pan and cook few minutes
At last add lemon juice
Pour the extra tadka over the khichadi.
