Chandrekala a dessert recipe but I made Savory Chandrakala.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR DOUGH - All purpose flour - 2 cups
  2. Salt - to taste
  3. Ghee - 1/3 cup
  4. STUFFING - Boiled potatoes- 500 grams
  5. Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  7. Dry mango/ amchur powder - 1 teaspoon
  8. Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Kitchen king masala - 1 teaspoon
  10. Ghee - for deep frying
  11. Hing 1 pinch
  12. Chopped almonds1/4 cup
  13. Chopped cashew nuts1/4 cup
  14. Chopped pistachio 1/4 cup
  15. Raisin1/4 cup
  16. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  17. Dry coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  18. Chopped Ginger 2 tablespoon
  19. Chopped green chilli 2 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take a big mixing bowl add all purpose flour ,1/3cup Ghee and salt according to taste mix gently and make crumble
  2. Make a soft dough using warm water. Cover it And leave for 30 minute.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoon ghee add hing and Cumin seeds
  4. When Cumin seeds crackle add chopped ginger and chilli saute 1 minutes
  5. Add all dry fruits and saute 2 minutes
  6. Now add boiled mash potato
  7. And add all remaining spice
  8. Add salt
  9. Saute 15 to 20 minutes
  10. When filling is ready allow to cool
  11. Dough Knead again for 2 minutes
  12. Make big balls and roll it using rolling pin make big roti
  13. Cut cookies cutter or bowl
  14. Put 1 teaspoon filling in 1 part and cover another part
  15. Fold edges of Chandrakala
  16. Make Chandrakala
  17. Heat ghee in a pan and deep-frying chanderkala in low flame
  18. When chanderkala golden in color take out form ghee
  19. Now shahi chanderkala (namkeen) ready for serve
