Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For the chocolate cake
  2. Maida/all purpose flour cups
  3. Sugar 1 1/2 cup
  4. Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  5. Baking soda 1 teaspoon
  6. A pinch of salt
  7. Water 1 cup
  8. Vanilla essence 1 tablespoon
  9. Vegetable oil 3/4 cup
  10. Lemon juice 2 teaspoon
  11. For the icing-
  12. Non dairy whipping cream 2 cups
  13. Color as per your choice(I have used light purple and blue)
  14. Gulabjamun 100 grams

Instructions

  1. For the cake mix flour, soda, baking powder and salt and keep aside.
  2. Now warm the water and switch off the flame.
  3. Add sugar, oil, vanilla essence and lemon juice. Stir till all the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Now mix the wet with dry ingredients till you get a smooth batter.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes (I have used an 8 inch pan)
  6. Let it cool completely before icing it.
  7. For the icing whip the cream till you get firm peaks. It takes around 5 minutes for that.
  8. You can divide the icing as per requirement and color it at this stage.
  9. Now with serrated knife slice the cake in half to create two even heighted cakes.
  10. Brush the gulabjamun sugar syrup all over the cake.
  11. Fill a disposable piping bag with purple icing. And cut the opening big enough for a smooth filling access.
  12. Now going in round fill the cake in the middle. Top the second layer and again coat it evenly with a thin layer of icing
  13. Rest it in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.
  14. Now fill you pipping bags with the design of your choice and make designs to cover the cake. Make sure to decorate the gulabjamun on top.
  15. Chill for at least 2 hours.
  16. Serve and enjoy!!
