A simple ,no fuss dessert from Tahiti

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Ripe banana puree (from 4-5 bananas) 1 cup
  2. Brown sugar 1.5 tablespoon
  3. Cornflour/cornstarch 1/4 cup
  4. Vanilla Essence 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Unsalted butter to grease
  6. Coconut cream or milk, vanilla icecream to serve

Instructions

  1. Puree 4-5 ripe bananas in a blender till smooth so that it yields 1 cup
  2. Take it in a pan and heat low to medium heat. Add vanilla essence and Brown sugar
  3. Mix well till sugar dissolves and colour of the puree changes slightly to Brown
  4. Take off heat and add cornflour/starch and mix very well
  5. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
  6. Grease a 6 inch baking pan (square or round) and pour mixture in.
  7. Bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes or till the top is firm to touch
  8. Allow to cool in tray and then remove by cutting squares
  9. Serve with coconut milk in a bowl or coconut cream or vanilla icecream.
