Yes, a little different but very grand for a traditional diwali celebration.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For the koftas :
  2. Boiled & mashed potatoes - 2
  3. PANEER (crumbled) - 1/4 cup
  4. Cornflour - 3 tablespoon
  5. Maida - 1 tablespoon
  6. Chopped ginger - 1 teaspoon
  7. Chopped green chillies - 2
  8. Red chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Coriander leaves (handful)
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Refined oil (to fry)
  12. For the gravy :
  13. Onion (chopped) - 1
  14. Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  15. Tomatoes (chopped) - 1
  16. Red chilly powder - 1 teaspoon
  17. Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  18. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  19. Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  20. Cream - 1 tablespoon
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Refined oil

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together mentioned under "koftas". Make small balls out of the mixture.
  2. Heat ample amount of oil in a kadhai and deep fry the balls in them. Drain and keep aside.
  3. Now in another pan, heat some oil and then add the chopped onion.
  4. Once golden Brown, add ginger garlic paste and saute further.
  5. Now add the powdered masalas, salt and the chopped tomatoes.
  6. Cook till the masala leaves oil.
  7. Then add water for the gravy. Bring upto boil and then add the cream.
  8. Stir and then add the fried koftas.
  9. Mix and serve hot.

Kofta cooked with onion and tomato based gravy is so delicious.
