ABOUT Appe Khaman Dhokla... RECIPE

Absolutely gorgeous and melt in mouth khaman dhoklas are ready in just a few minutes in an appam patra. Amazingly spongy and super soft, silky, luscious appe khaman dhokla, trust me guys. You will love it and stop making these in a dhokla steamer once and for all. It can be a star attraction in any kitty party or tea party or even weekend special parties with your loved ones. Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. FOR THE BATTER...
  2. Gram flour or besan 1 cup heaped
  3. Sour curd 3/4 th cup
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Green chillies chopped 2
  6. Coriander leaves chopped a fistful
  7. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  8. Asafoetida or Hing 2 pinches
  9. Oil 1 tbsp
  10. FOR THE TEMPERING...
  11. Oil 1 tbsp
  12. Dry red chillies 3 to 4
  13. Black mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  14. Coriander leaves chopped few
  15. Curry leaves few
  16. FOR THE GARNISHING...
  17. Sesame seeds 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Make a thick batter with all the ingredients listed under it.
  2. Use little water if necessary.
  3. Allow it to stand for about 30 minutes.
  4. After 30 minutes, heat an appam patra.
  5. Drizzle one drop of oil in each mould.
  6. Add 2 tbsp of Eno fruit salt to the batter and mix it lightly. See how it becomes fluffy and super light in texture.
  7. Immediately start pouring three fourth of a tablespoon of the batter in each mould of the pan.
  8. It will rise and become fluffy and spongy. So do not overflow it with more amount.
  9. Spongy and soft appe khaman are ready.
  10. After all are ready, prepare a tempering and pour over these appe khaman dhoklas.
  11. I served these with yummy freshly grated coconut chutney.
