ABOUT Streetside Vegetarian Chowmein RECIPE

It's also called dirty chowmein, but there's really nothing dirty about this recipe, except for how quick it cooks. Ketchup. soya sauce and chilli sauce is what makes it so good

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 packet vegetarian Hakka Noodles
  2. 1/2 cup carrots cut into daikons
  3. 1 cup cabbage shredded
  4. 1 capsicum cut into daikons
  5. 1/2 cup beans cut into strips
  6. 2 tblsp tomato ketchup
  7. 2 tblsp vinegar chilli sauce
  8. 3 tblsp dark soya sauce
  9. 2 tblsp chilli garlic sauce
  10. 1/2 cup spring onions slices
  11. 3 cloves of garlic minced
  12. 1/2 tsp ginger minced
  13. 1 tblsp oil
  14. salt and pepper to taste
  15. 1 onion sliced

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling the noodles till they are al dente and then draining and laying them out to dry.
  2. Heat a wok with the oil and put in the ginger garlic to stir fry quickly. Once it releases its aroma add in the onions and saute on high.
  3. Add all the sauces to the onions and then add the capsicum, beans and carrots and stir fry on high for 3 minutes or until the carrots have slightly softened.
  4. Add the cabbage and mix well. Now add in the noodles and stir fry for about 3 minutes making sure you mix all the vegetables with the noodles.
  5. Garnish with coriander, serve with a squeeze of lime and more sauces
