ABOUT MURG-E-PYAZ RECIPE

Onion stuffed with chicken mince.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 medium red onions, peeled,stem- ends trimmed, root ends trimmed but intact
  2. 2tsp oil
  3. 4-5 cloves of garlic
  4. 1tsp thyme
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 75ml water
  7. Ingredients for stuffing
  8. 125gms of chicken mince
  9. 2tsp garlic mince
  10. 5-6 mint leaves chopped
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Ingredients for Gravy :
  13. 1tbsp olive oil
  14. 3tsp chilli garlic paste
  15. 1/2 CUP ONION PASTE
  16. 1tbsp cashew paste
  17. 1/2 cup tomato puree
  18. Salt to taste
  19. 1/4tsp Turmeric powder
  20. 1/2Tsp chilli powder
  21. 1/2 cup Cream

Instructions

  1. In a microwave proof bowl put 75ml water and add everything mentioned above in it. Now microwave it for 15 mins or till the onions are soft.
  2. Mix the ingredients together for the stuffing.
  3. Once the onions cool down carefully lift them on to a cutting board leaving the liquid in the bowl. Scoop out a few layers from inside each onion and stuff them.
  4. Now grill them on 200c for 20 mins or till reddish brown.
  5. In a sauce pan add 1 by 1 ingredients as mentioned in their order giving a gap of 2-3 mins on a medium flame and continous stirring.
  6. Now add salt,turmeric powder and chilli powder. Add the liquid left in the bowl and bring it to boil.
  7. Stir well for 5 mins and add 1/2 cup fresh cream. Stir again just to mix and the gravy is ready.
  8. Serve the stuffed onions with gravy. HAPPY COOKING !!
