ABOUT Fig Jam RECIPE

Fig is full of iron and getting it into the diet of kids is really a big deal.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Fresh fig ( ripped preferably) -250gms
  2. Sugar - 1 cup
  3. Butter -1 tsp( optional)
  4. Lemon juice 1/4 tsp
  5. Cinnamon powder 1 pinch
  6. Vanilla extract 1-2 drops

Instructions

  1. Wash clean and pat it dry figs with kitchen cloth
  2. For adults, you can chop few(4-5) fig into bits for crunchy texture.
  3. Blend the rest fig into purée
  4. In the nonstick skillet add butter and once butter melts add fig chunks(if adding) and sauté for a while
  5. Add in fig purée and sauté till raw smell leaves
  6. Add sugar and sauté let the sugar dissolve. Add cinnamon powder and vanilla essence
  7. Cook till the mixture leaves the pan
  8. Cook till desired consistency
  9. Switch off and add lemon juice
