ABOUT Chingrir Jhal RECIPE

An easy yet yummy recipe with sweet,sour and spicy taste. The mustard seeds add sourness, while poppy seeds enhance the flavour, the coconut adds sweetness, and the tomato adds the tang.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 300 gm - Prawns, cleaned & washed
  2. 1 - Finely chopped onion
  3. 1- Finely chopped tomato
  4. Salt to taste
  5. 1 tsp - Ginger garlic paste
  6. For the paste : 1 tsp - Poppy seeds
  7. 3 tsp - Mustard seeds
  8. 6 tsp - Grated coconut
  9. Green chillI - 5

Instructions

  1. Boil the prawns with salt.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add onion, fry till brown.
  3. Add chopped tomato and ginger garlic paste, saute till the tomatoes become soft and everything mixes well.
  4. Add the paste and salt, fry for a few min,adding some more oil into it.
  5. Add prawns and mix nicely by adding a little water. Bring to a boil and take it off the gas.
