Savory Jamun
In a blender add tomatoes and puree it (I strained it because I wanted a smooth gravy). Keep it aside.
In a blender add cashews, poppy seeds (gasagase), curd and grind to a smooth paste. Keep it aside.
Take jamun packet and prepare the jamun koftas as per the instructions on the packet and keep it aside.
Take a heavy bottomed kadai, add very little oil just to fry onions (if more oil is added, jamun koftas tend to absorb more oil. Once the dish is complete it oozes out the extra oil and the dish will be too oily)
Once the oil is heated, add in chopped onions and fry till translucent. Add green chillies and fry, add in strained tomato puree and fry till the tomatoes are cooked half way.
Add in all the spices- Red chilli powder, dhaniya powder, garam masala, salt, Jeera powder, turmeric and fry till the masala is cooked well.
Add in cashew- curd- poppy seed paste. Mix well. Add in Kasuri methi.
Check for the seasoning. Now add the prepared jamun koftas and mix slowly. Turn off the heat and cover the dish for 15 minutes.
Serve the Curd Jamun kofta curry with puri or chapati or roti.
