ABOUT Tandoori Prawns/ Jhinga RECIPE

A great way to relish these prawns in healthy way by cooking in Tandoori style using just one spoon of oil in oven. This also makes a quick and easy starter for any party. Tasty bhi aur healthy bhi.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tiger prawns - 40
  2. Hung curd - 8 tbsp
  3. Chilly powder - 1/2 to 1 tsp
  4. Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Garam masala powder - 2 pinches
  7. Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp + 1/4 tsp
  9. Tandoori colour - little
  10. Tomato puree or paste - 1 to 2 tspn
  11. Lemon juice - 2tspn
  12. MDH Tandoori masala - 1 to 2 tspn
  13. Coriander leaves (chopped) - handful
  14. Mint leaves (chopped) - handful
  15. Green chillies 3 or 4
  16. Juice of lemon
  17. Oil 4 tsp
  18. Salt according to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix 20 prawns with 4 tbsp hung curd, chilly powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, a pinch of garam masala, 1/4 tsp pepper powder, 1/2 tsp ginger garllic paste, tandoori color, tomato paste, lemon juice, tandoori masala in one bowl.
  2. Now mix the other 20 prawns with 4 tbsp hung curd, 1 pinch of garam masala, 1/4 tsp pepper powder, 1/4 tsp ginger-garlic paste, coriander and mint leaves, green chillies, juice of 1/2 lemon in another bowl.
  3. Season both the bowls with salt and marinate prawns over night. Soak the skewers for 30 minutes.
  4. Arrange prawns on skewers. Grease the grilling tray. Pre-heat oven for 15 minutes. Cook prawns for 10 to 15 minutes at 200 degrees C.
