ABOUT Braided Pesto Bread RECIPE

Braided pesto bread with herbs is easy to make at home and perfect for parties. It attracts your guest. It is crunchy outside and soft,very flavourful inside.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. For bread dough-
  2. 4 cups maida
  3. 1 3/4 cups of warm water
  4. 2 tbsp Milk
  5. 4 tbsp Olive oil
  6. 1 tbsp oregano
  7. 1 tbsp Chilli powder
  8. 1 tbsp basil
  9. 1 tbsp salt
  10. 2 tbsp of active dry yeast
  11. 1 tbsp garlic powder
  12. For pesto paste-
  13. 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  14. 2 tbsp garlic pods
  15. 2 green chillies
  16. 1/2 cup olive oil
  17. Salt 1/2 tspn
  18. For making flour paste-
  19. 1 tbsp maida
  20. 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Soak the yeast in warm milk leave it for about 10 minutes.
  2. Mix rest of the ingredients for the dough.
  3. Once yeast has been activated add the dry ingredients .
  4. Prepare dough. Knead it for about 10 minutes then keep it in an oiled dish to rise for about an hour
  5. Punch the risen dough. Roll into a big chapati of about 1/2 inch thickness. Spread pesto paste. Roll the chapati
  6. Cut from the middle lengthwise and stop before reaching the end. The two parts should remain joined.
  7. Separate two parts while still joined at one end.
  8. Now fold over it one by one.
  9. When you reach the end, join the two corners with help of flour paste
  10. Bake it at 190 degrees C for 35 minutes. As each oven is different pls keep checking the bread after first 25 minutes.
  11. Brush with melted butter.
  12. For pesto paste - Mix all ingredients mention in pesto paste.
  13. For flour glue Mix maida and water.
