These are fried and eggless. This recipe I learnt from my mom. It is yeast free and no dough raising too. I called these as old fashioned donuts :relaxed:

Maida / All Purpose Flour - 1½ cup
Sugar - 5 tsp
Curd - ¼ cup
Baking Soda - ½ tsp
Baking Powder - ½ tsp
Soft Butter - 3 tbsp
Milk few tbsps if required
Oil - 1 cup
Extra flour if required for Dusting/Rolling
For topping:
Chocolate - ½ cup
Fresh cream - ¼ cup
Sugar - 2-3 tsp
Cocoa powder - 2 tsp
Milk - 2-3 tsp
Colourful sprinkles
Instructions
In a small bowl add the curd and soda and stir till smooth. Keep aside for about 10 mins.
Next add sugar to it and mix well. Let the sugar dissolves completely.
In a mixing bowl add the flour, baking powder and mix well. Add the soft butter and crumble the flour nicely with the butter.
Add the curd to the crumbled flour and make a dough, add milk little by little if required.
Take a good portion of the dough and make ball. Dust with flour and roll the ball into thick circle.
Now use a heart shape cookie cutter and cut into heart shape. Use a smaller size heart shape cookie cutter and press on center of it to make a small heart shape hole. Continue the same with the remaining dough.
Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot switch off the flame. Add the donuts gently into the oil and fry for a min or two.
Now switch on the flame and fry them on a medium heat till golden brown. Do not over load the pan with donuts, fry in batches depending on the size of your pan.
Remove and drain in a paper towel. Let it cool down completely.
In a sauce pan add the fresh cream, chocolate and sugar and heat it. When the chocolate switch off the heat and stir till chocolate and sugar melts completely. Add the cocoa powder and milk, stir well and make a smooth chocolate dip.
Now dip the fried donuts into the chocolate dip and sprinkle the colourful sprinklers and serve.
