ABOUT Whole Wheat Waffle RECIPE

Our favorite fancy way to have atta, no kneading or rolling like chapatti required now. Serve savory waffles with chicken curry and salad.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Whole wheat flour / Atta - 1 cup
  2. Cold milk- 3/4 cup
  3. egg- 1
  4. Sugar- 1 tsp (optional)
  5. Salt - a small pinch
  6. Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
  7. Spice powder - a pinch (like kasuri methi, garam masala etc)

Instructions

  1. Into the cold milk break in the egg, add spice powder,baking powder, sugar and salt.
  2. Whisk well until fluffy.Now add the wholewheat flour and mix just until combined. The batter should be thick yet dropping consistency not runny.
  3. Heat the waffle iron. Spray with cooking oil or brush some on all nook and crannies.
  4. When the iron is hot pour a laddle full of batter in the center. Don't pour more it spreads so if there is more it will leak through the sides. Cook as per waffle iron instructions.
  5. Once the waffle iron indicates ready to pull out the waffle carefully do it with tongs.
  6. Make more waffles until the batter is over.
  7. Serve the whole wheat waffle with chicken curry and salad
