ABOUT Corn Lollipops RECIPE

A delicious, easy, chatpata, spicy snack perfect for any party, get-togethers or tea parties. This is ultimately crowd-pleaser. This recipe is inspired from Sonali. I have made few variations and came up with mine.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Sweet corn 1 & 1/2 cup
  2. Boiled potato 2
  3. Ginger Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  4. Green chili 2-3
  5. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  6. Lemon juice 1/4 tsp
  7. Cumin seeds (Jeera) 1/2 tsp
  8. Cilantro (Coriander leaves) 4 tsp
  9. Semolina (Sooji) 3 tsp
  10. Coriander powder 1/4 tsp
  11. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Bread crumbs/Toast crumbs 1/2 cup
  14. oil

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, add sweet corn, cumin seeds and green chili. Grind coarsely, do not make a paste. Boil and mash potatoes.
  2. In a mixing bowl add corn mixture, mashed potatoes, semolina, coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, sugar and salt; mix well.
  3. Add bread/toast crumbs, cilantro and mix well.
  4. Grease your palm with little oil and make patties in round, oval or any desired shape.
  5. Gently coat both sides with the bread crumbs. Repeat same procedure with other patties.
  6. Heat oil in a kadai. Deep fry corn patties over medium flame till golden brown color. Drain it on a kitchen paper towel.
  7. Serve hot with ketchup or green chutney.
