Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 and 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  2. 2 tablespoons oil
  3. 1 tablespoon sugar
  4. 1 and 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 3/4 teaspoon dry active yeast
  6. 1/4 cup luke warm water
  7. 1/2 cup Milk
  8. 2 raisins for eyes
  9. 2-3 drops of food colour (red)
  10. Milk for brushing

Instructions

  1. In luke warm water mix sugar and add yeast. stir and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. It will froth. When frothy stir and it's ready to use.
  2. In a wide bowl add the flour, salt, sugar and ready yeast.
  3. Add milk slowly to knead into a soft and slightly sticky dough. Start with 1/4 cup of water and slowly add milk by tablespoons.
  4. Continue kneading till you get a soft pliable dough. This takes about 10 - 15 mins. This is to ensure gluten is developed.
  5. Then oil the mixing bowl, place the dough and keep it covered till it doubles.
  6. When the dough is doubled punch it down and knead it again.
  7. Now divide it into two parts and shape the larger portion into a triangle with rounded corners for Santa's face.
  8. Divide the smaller portion in half. Shape and flatten one half into a beard. Using scissors or a pizza cutter, cut into strips for santa beard. Twist and curl strips.
  9. I used the remaining dough for the moustache, nose, hat pom-pom and brim. Shape a portion of dough into a moustache, flatten and cut the ends into small strips with scissors. Place above beard. Place a small ball above moustache for the nose. And two balls for the cheeks.
  10. Roll out a narrow piece of dough to create a hat.another big strip for hats second part and 1 ball for hat.
  11. With a scissors, cut two slits for eyes; insert raisins into slits. In separate small bowls Add red food coloring in water; carefully brush over hat, nose and cheeks. Brush milk over remaining dough.let it rise again for half hour and Bake it in preheated oven at 200 degree for 15 min.
  12. Cool and enjoy
