Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Idly –6 (cut into small bite sized pieces)
  2. Maida – 2 tablespoons
  3. Cornflour – 1 tablespoon
  4. Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
  5. Soya Sayce – 1 tablespoon
  6. Water – enough to make a thin batter
  7. Onions – 1 (chopped)
  8. Ginger – 1 teaspoon (chopped)
  9. Garlic – 1 teaspoon (chopped)
  10. Capsicum – 1 (Chopped)
  11. Green Chillies – 3-4 (slit)
  12. Tomato Sauce – 2 tablespoon
  13. Soya Sauce – 1 teaspoon
  14. Vinegar – ½ teaspoon
  15. Oil – for deep frying
  16. Coriander leaves / Spring Onions (for garnishing)
  17. Water

Instructions

  1. Prepare a batter with cornflour, APF, ginger garlic paste, soya sauce and water.
  2. Add the idly to the batter and when the batter coats the idly well deep fry till golden brown and keep aside.
  3. In a kadai heat a tsp of oil, add onions, when slightly pink add the ginger, garlic, green chillies and sauté well.
  4. Add the capsicum and toss till cooked for a few minutes.
  5. Add the tomato sauce, soya sauce, and vinegar and mix well.
  6. Add a few tblsp of water and add the fried idly’s to the sauce and toss around till the sauce coats the idly.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves or spring onions.
