ABOUT Chocolate Pista Burfi RECIPE

A natural beautiful green and white colour dessert that is a very beautiful combination. It is my all time favourite sweet, it's so tasty!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 250 gm khoya grated
  2. 1/3 cup sugar
  3. 1/4 cup water
  4. White chocolate 200 gm
  5. Pista Green colour, a pinch (optional)
  6. Cardamom powder, a pinch (optional)
  7. Few silver sheets (varak) (optional)
  8. Few crushed pistas/ pistachios

Instructions

  1. Cook the sugar and water together in a flat pan and bring it to a boil. Make a 2 and 1/2 string consistency of sugar syrup by stirring on a low heat for 5-7 mins. Then remove it from the heat.
  2. Next add in the grated khoya to the hot syrup. Stir it continuously with a wooden spoon for 3-4 mins and the mixture will start to thicken and turn to a soft paste. While it's still runny, return it to the fire, add in the pista colour, cardamom and stir on a very low heat for 2 mins.
  3. Transfer this mixture to a greased tray or plate, keep 1/2 of this thick burfi aside to set for 10-15 mins in the freezer.
  4. Next, cut the chocolate and put the chocolate in a double boiler. Start melting the chocolate, but do not over melt it.
  5. Once the plain burfi is set, pour the melting chocolate layer on top and spread the crushed chocolates and pista on top. Keep it aside for 10 mins in the freezer.
  6. Cut the varak into equal pieces and place it on top of the burfi. Then transfer to a plate and let it cool.
