Eggless Apple upside Down Cake

ABOUT Eggless Apple upside Down Cake RECIPE

It is low fat recipe. This recipe has just 2 tsp of butter for caramel. So it is a low fat, eggless and a delicious recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Apples 3 medium sized
  2. Sugar 2 tsp
  3. Lemon juice 1/2 tsp
  4. For batter - Maida 1//2 cup/180 gms
  5. Sugar 1/2 cup 100 gms
  6. Baking powder 2 tsp
  7. Milk 1 cup
  8. Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  9. Lemon juice 2 tsp
  10. Apple puree 2-3 tsp (Optional)
  11. For caramel: Sugar 1/2 - 3/4 cup
  12. Water 3 tsp
  13. Butter 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Pre heat the oven at 180 degree centigrade for 10 minutes.
  2. Grease a baking pan with oil.
  3. Peel the apples, core them and cut into wedges. Sprinkle 2 tsp sugar and 1/2 tsp lemon juice over them and toss well. Keep aside.
  4. Take milk in another bowl and add lemon juice mix well. Set aside.
  5. Make caramel: Take sugar and water in a pan and heat on medium heat. Do not stir just keep swirling the pan and let the caramel bubble up. When it gets dark, take off the heat and add butter. Mix well.
  6. Pour the caramel into the greased pan and arrange apple slices all over it. Set aside.
  7. In the milk mix sugar and apple puree if using. Add vanilla essence and mix well.
  8. Mix flour, baking powder in a bowl and mix well. Pour the milk in it and fold gently.
  9. Now pour batter over the apples and spread evenly. Bake for 30-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Remove cake from oven. Let it cool for 3-5 minutes.
