ABOUT Pressure cooker chicken pulao RECIPE

A mild, delicious pulao made with chicken, for a quick lunch or dinner. A perfect soulful comfort food.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken - 100 gm
  2. Basmati rice - 1 cup
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  4. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Chicken masala powder - 1 tsp
  6. Chopped onion - 1
  7. Chopped tomatoes- 1
  8. Coriander leaves (handful)
  9. Salt
  10. Ghee/refined oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a pressure cooker pan with some ghee and oil. Add the chopped onion and saute until golden brown.
  2. Then add the chicken pieces and fry on full flame to seal the meat. Then lower the flame and saute for few minutes.
  3. Then add the chopped tomatoes, powdered masalas, ginger garlic paste and salt. Cook on a low flame with a lid on until the tomatoes are melted.
  4. Meanwhile wash the rice and keep aside.
  5. Add the coriander leaves to the chicken and stir. Then add the rice. Give it a stir.
  6. Add 1.5 cups of water and mix. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook until 2 whistles are attained. Let the pressure settle. Open and serve hot.
