ABOUT Kachhe Tamatar ki Laungi RECIPE

A very famous pickle, instant ones, from UP.. Specially made in winters when the green raw tomatoes are in the market.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 250 gms finely chopped raw green tomatoes
  2. 1 tbsp oil
  3. 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds , sarson ka tel
  4. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds( jeera)
  5. 1/4 tsp nigella seeds( kalaunji)
  6. 1/4 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
  7. 1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
  8. 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  9. 1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
  10. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, nigella seeds and fennel seeds and saute on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  2. 2. Add the tomatoes and green chillies, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the coriander powder, chilli powder and ¼ cup of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally
  4. 4. Add the sugar, coriander and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 more minute, while stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot..
