ABOUT Chilla Sandwich RECIPE

It is a chilla + bread = sandwich. Made in two different ways. But the taste is unbeatable anyways.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Besan - 1/2 cup
  2. Oats powder - 1/2 cup
  3. Tomatoes chopped - 1 medium
  4. Onion finely chopped - 1 medium
  5. Coriander finely chopped
  6. Green chillies finely chopped - 1
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Haldi powder - 1 tsp
  10. Sodabicarbonate - 1/4 tsp
  11. Bread Slice - 8
  12. Sliced onion and tomato (Optional)
  13. Butter 4-5 tbsp
  14. Oil for cooking
  15. Green chutney and ketchup to serve

Instructions

  1. Finely chop onions tomatoes after washing them clean.
  2. In a bowl take besan and oats powder add onion tomatoes chopped green chillies and finely chopped Coriander add all dry spices soda and salt .
  3. Make a dropping consistency batter by adding needed amount of water.
  4. Cut sides of four bread slices and apply butter and green chutney on them. Keep aside.
  5. Heat a non stick pan. Add ladle of batter to it and make a circle cook it on both sides till done adding oil or butter. Make two such chillas.
  6. Now dip the remaining four breads one by one in batter and cook on pan on both side till brown or done using oil or butter. Cut into four triangles and arrange in a plate.
  7. Now put the cooked plain chillas one each between the two bread slices which we had applied chutney . Put slice onion and tomato sprinkle some chat masala. Cut into four triangles and serve along with the above chilla Sandwich triangles with ketchup and chutney.
  8. Can add grated cheese and grill the sandwich on tawa on both sides till cheese melts. Kids love the cheesy taste...
