Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cup refined flour
  2. 1 tablespoon Semolina
  3. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1/4 cup ghee
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1/2 cup moong daal
  7. 2 tablespoon oil
  8. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  9. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  10. 1 teaspoon Dried Mango Powder
  11. 1/2 teaspoon fennel powder
  12. 1 teaspoon chili powder
  13. 1/2 teaspoon roast cumin powder
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add refined flour, salt, baking powder, ghee and semolina and mix well.
  2. Add sufficient water and knead into a stiff dough.
  3. Cover the bowl with cloth and rest the dough for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add coriander seeds, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, fennel powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well.
  5. sauté for 2 minutes .
  6. add little water to avoid over cooking,
  7. Then add soaked moong daal , half cup water, dry mango powder and chat masala mix well and cook till moong daal is fully cooked mash lightly.
  8. Roll the dough into medium circle and add 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center.
  9. Fold well and roll again ensuring the filling does not come out.
  10. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame.
  11. Fry the prepared kachori until golden brown on both sides and puffed up.
  12. Remove and drain excess oil.
  13. serve hot with tamarind chutney .
