Ingredients Serving: 4
Flour - 2 cups
Water - 1.5 cups
Yeast - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tbsp
Dried apricots soaked in orange juice overnight - 10 no.s
Honey - 3 tbsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Almond flakes - 1 tbsp
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Instructions
Let's get all our ingredients together.
Take the flour in a deep bowl so that it's easy to make the dough. Now into the flour add yeast and salt, whisk and mix it well.
Now add water and mix it well. What we get at this point is a sticky dough.
Cover the bowl having dough with a cling film. Let this rest for 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes wet the hands and fold the dough for few minutes. At this time the dough will be a bit sticky. This step needs to be repeated 3 times with an interval of 45 mins.
After the last interval of 45 mins dust the surface with flour and take the dough on this surface, dust some flour on the dough too.
Divide this into 4 equal portions.
Now take a portion, press and spread it and then roll it to give it a shape of baguette. Repeat this with other portions.
Place the rolled dough on a baking tray that has a butter paper or has been greased. Cover this with a napkin and let it rest for another 20 mins.
Preheat the oven at 200 degree. While the oven is getting ready remove the napkin and spray some water on the dough. Give some cuts on the top of the dough with sharp knife. Bake this for 30 mins.
After 30 mins you can see our lovely golden baguettes are ready.
Now it's time to prepare honey glazed apricots. Drain out the orange juice from the apricots. In a pan take butter, when the butter starts getting hot add the apricots to it.
Cook the apricots till they turn golden brown on both sides.
Now add the honey into this and give it a nice stir.
Our apricots soaked in honey are now ready.
Now it's time to assemble the dish. Cut the baguettes in desired shape and top it with the honey glazed apricots. Garnish it with almond flakes and rasins.
