Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For Marination:
  2. Paprika powder or as per taste 2 teaspoons
  3. Chicken boneless bite size pieces 1/4 kg
  4. Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  5. Coriander powder 3/4 teaspoon
  6. Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  7. Salt 1.5 teaspoon
  8. Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
  9. Sesame oil / olive oil 1+ 5 tablespoons
  10. For the sauce :
  11. Sesame / Olive oil 1 tablespoon
  12. Finely Chopped ginger 1 teaspoon
  13. Scallion white bulbs roughly chopped 1/4 cup
  14. Green bell peppers medium small 1
  15. Tomato sauce 3 tablespoons
  16. Espresso without sugar 3/4 cup
  17. Salt as required
  18. Italian seasonings as preferred
  19. Dry Basil 1 tablespoon
  20. lime juice 1 tablespoon
  21. White pepper or as preferred 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Firstly marinate chicken with the ingredients mentioned for marination. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 5 tablespoons oil in a pan. Pan sear the marinated chicken pieces until chicken is done to golden brown. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
  3. In the same pan, add remaining oil. Sauté ginger until aroma releases. Add in the scallion bulbs and sauté.
  4. Add the diced bell peppers and sauté. Add the tomato sauce.
  5. Mix. Add espresso. Add salt.
  6. Mix all. Allow the sauce to boil until reduced to thick. Add in the seared chicken pieces. Toss and cook in sauce for another 4 minutes. When semi dry state reached, sprinkle white pepper powder. Squeeze lime juice. Spicy Espresso Chicken is ready.
  7. Serve with finely chopped ginger . Serve hot .
