ABOUT Jaggery Malpuas RECIPE

Jaggery malpua is a delicious dessert and melt in the mouth. This wheat flour malpuas should be served right off the tava, garnish with cardamom powder and pistachios or with a topping of creamy rabdi.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup grated jaggery
  2. 1 cup wheat flour
  3. 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  4. 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  5. Ghee as required

Instructions

  1. Heat 3/4 cup of water in abroad non-stick pan, add the jaggery, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes or till the jaggery melts.
  2. Remove from the flame, transfer into a bowl and keep aside to cool slightly. Add the whole wheat flour and fennel seeds, cardamom powder and mix well till no lumps remain.
  3. Heat a non- stick tava and grease it using a little ghee. Pour a small ladleful of the batter on it and spread it evenly.
  4. Cook both sides till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides.
