ABOUT Sweet n Sour Shrimp RECIPE

Shrimp prepared with tomato,onion and sweet mini pepper has a sweet and tangy taste.Goes great with Fried rice or Noodles.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 large tomato chopped into medium pieces
  2. 8-9 jumbo shrimps peeled and washed
  3. 1 tsp garlic paste
  4. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds(optional)
  5. 1/2 large size onion cut in layers
  6. 4-5 mini sweet peppers cut into medium pieces vertically
  7. 3-4 spoon olive oil
  8. 1 tsp soya sauce
  9. 1 tsp vinegar
  10. 1 tsp siracha sauce
  11. 1/2 tsp salt
  12. 1/2 tsp sugar
  13. 2-3 green chillies
  14. 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Lal Mirch (optional)
  15. 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Take a flat pan,put olive oil.When it’s hot,add cumin seeds and green chilly.
  2. Add onion pieces and shrimp and fry it for 1-2 mins.
  3. Add garlic paste,salt and sugar .Fry it for sometime.
  4. Add the sweet mini peppers and fry it for 1 min.
  5. Take out the shrimp and keep it aside.
  6. Add soya sauce,vinegar,siracha sauce and sauté it for some time on medium flame.
  7. Add 1/2 cup water and let it simmer for 2-3 mins on medium flame.Sprinkle black pepper.Taste salt and add if required
  8. Cook on medium flame for 1-2 mins,till the gravy becomes little thick.Cornflour or corn starch can also be added with water to make the gravy little more thick.Sweet and sour shrimp is ready.
  9. Serve with fried rice or noodles.
